What, exactly, happens during an apprenticeship?
You want to take on an apprenticeship but don't know what to expect.
During your apprenticeship, you will work with a business where you will learn skills on the job. Through participating in an apprenticeship, you are accelerating your journey to job readiness.
During your first week as a new apprentice, you should go through an onboarding process, wherein the business will introduce its brand to you. You will learn what their brand stands for, what they plan to do in the future, and what you can do to help. You will also let the brand know what, exactly, you are looking for in the program and what your schedule looks like. This document will help you and the business get started.
You will set your learning goals and business goals during your onboarding period, and you will spend the rest of your apprenticeship achieving your specific goals.
After each week, you will have the chance to rate your mentor and his/her teaching process, and your mentor will have the chance to rate your work. Here, you can make a list of what you liked, what you didn't like, and what you've learned.
At the end of the apprenticeship, you get a certificate that you can add to your LinkedIn account, experience to add to your resumé and portfolio, freelancing experience, and a reference. We also suggest building a portfolio of your work because marketing is a very visual field.
