- What is Workstation?
Workstation is a collaboration tool that allows a business to work directly with an apprentice on the same screen without downloads or plugins. You can log in to your marketing tools and securely provide access to your apprentice without sharing your password! The apprentice can then take the reins and get to work. This is immensely beneficial if you want to show your apprentice how to do a task, you’re mentoring them in. What’s more, you’re not tethered; you can log off while your apprentice continues to work with your apps!
- What can workstation be used for?
There are multiple uses for workstation; some of which include:
i. You can share skills with your apprentice on any given app. Then watch and guide them as they try it for themselves. Remember, you can take the reins at any time to course-correct your apprentice. This works well during the onboarding phase; and for upskill training sessions.
ii. If you want your apprentice to access one of your apps for a task, you can give them access without sharing your password.
iii. Your apprentice may want to work on tasks independently and they can use your marketing applications, even when you’re not logged in.
- How does it work?
i. Login to your account
ii. Click the picture of apprentice
iii. Click ‘Open workstation’ in the lower right corner
iv. Wait for the workstation to load. This can take up to 10 seconds
v. Once the workstation is loaded, you can add your marketing tools through the app store using the ‘+’ button on the left toolbar
- Is workstation available on the Acadium mobile app?
No, it isn’t available. The use of workstation by both parties is optimized for a desktop experience.
- Do I have to share my password with my apprentice when using Workstation?
No! You no longer have to reveal your marketing tools password; workstation allows you to log into your marketing tools which can then be used by your apprentice.
- Can my apprentice access Workstation when I am offline?
Yes! After your first session in the workstation, you can log off your account; while the apprentice continues to work on the assigned tasks. Your apprentice can equally log in later or on another day and access workstation to stay on task; without you logging in.
- Can an apprentice continue their work in Workstation after I leave the workstation?
Yes. This frees up your time to focus on more important things knowing your apprentice is working away.
- Do I have to pay to use Workstation?
No. Workstation is part of your Acadium membership package and does not warrant additional fees.
- Are the apps free to download and use via Workstation?
Any existing app you use for your marketing, you can access for free simply by logging in to your account. If you intend to subscribe to a fee-paying app that you are not already subscribed to, then you will be required to pay that provider.
- Where is Workstation located in my account?
Simply click the picture of your apprentice; then scroll to the bottom of the page. You’ll find the link in the lower right corner of the page. You can bookmark the link that you are redirected to and use the workstation anytime as well.
- Can the apprentice access other files on my computer using Workstation?
No! An apprentice only has access to the apps you’ve added to Workstation. Other files on your computer are inaccessible to an apprentice. The workstation is a shared computer in the cloud between you and your apprentice.
- I have privacy concerns using Workstation. What measures are in place to ensure my privacy and security?
The workstation uses industry-standard protocols to protect your personal data. No passwords or sensitive information is stored within Acadium, and the data we do store is encrypted to ensure no bad actors can steal or use this data. Any data that is stored can be removed by requesting it to our Membership Success team. When your profile is removed from Acadium any data associated with it on the workstation is also removed.
- Can an apprentice add an app to Workstation too?
Yes! It works like a two-way mirror of some sort. You, as well as your apprentice, can add apps to the workstation. The apps added by your apprentice remain in the workstation space. In certain instances, an apprentice might use an app (which a business lacks) to complete some tasks, and for ease of sharing they may opt to add the app in workstation for your convenient review and feedback.
14. Does Workstation time out?
Yes. After 60 minutes it will time out of the session. You'll simply log in again to continue from where you left off.
15. Can I set up Workstation on Chrome, Safari, Internet Explorer, or Mozilla Firefox etc.?
Yes. Once you log in to Acadium on your primary browser, you can access workstation. If you choose to use another browser, you only need to login to your Acadium account, before proceeding to workstation. That said, we recommend Chrome as a browser of choice.
